BRUNSWICK HILLS, OH (WOIO) -

The Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-motorcycle crash that happened Friday afternoon in Brunswick Hills Township.

OSHP says both motorcycles were traveling southbound on Interstate 71 near milepost 224. One of the motorcycles began to slow down to render assistance for a vehicle off the right side of the roadway. The second motorcycle did not slow in time and struck the first motorcycle from behind. All parties riding the motorcycles were completely ejected, but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

John Eakin, of Sharon, PA, was transported by air ambulance to MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland. Paul Ottum, 33, of Brooklyn, OH, was transported to Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights. An unknown female was also transported to Southwest General.

I-71 southbound was closed for approximately 45 minutes as crews investigated and cleaned up the scene.
