CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Heights Mayor Dennis Wilcox has announced this will be his last term in office.
He released the following statement on Thursday:
"It has been my honor to represent the citizens of the city of Cleveland Heights for almost 16 years and since January of 2014 , as mayor. However, I will not be seeking a fifth term on council this year. I will continue in my full-time job as an attorney, and will also be able to find more time for my family.
Cleveland Heights is a great city and I have enjoyed working with our excellent city staff and my hard working colleagues on council. I will dedicate myself to achieving goals in the next 5 months that council and the city have made a priority, including working to pass our additional 1/4 percent income tax in November.
I will have more to say later, but I want to thank my campaign volunteers and supporters over the years for their backing in my prior campaigns and during my time on council."
