NEWBURY, OH (WOIO) - Multiple fire departments were called to assist the Newbury Fire Department extinguish a fire at a home on Parkview Dr. Friday evening. Fire Dispatch says the initial call came in at 5:51 p.m. As of 8:35 p.m. crews were still working the scene. We have not been made aware of any rescues or injuries at this time. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Other departments that insisted were Russell, Burton, Munson, Alburn, Chesterland, Middlefield and Troy.
The challenge for the city is that there aren't many sources of water, which is why so many other fire departments were called in to assist to the home.
A Newbury Firefighter says they also needed to call in a water shuttle because the city doesn't have pressurized hydrants.
