The Cleveland Police Department says a man died Saturday evening while operating a 2007 Honda off-road dirt bike without a helmet.

The accident happened at E. 65th and Quimby on Saturday, August 1, around 7:50 p.m.  According to a report from Cleveland Police, the man was traveling eastbound, which is the wrong direction. Quimby Ave is a westbound one-way street and investigators say that the driver of the dirt bike was speeding as he was approached the intersection of E. 65th St.

There he would collide with a 2014 Ford headed in a southbound direction on E. 65th St., which was entering the intersection of Quimby Ave with the right of way.

Police state that the operator of the dirt bike attempted to stop but continued into the intersection, hit the right side of the Ford, and was propelled into the side of the Ford.

He was conveyed to the Cleveland Clinic and pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the Ford showed no signs of alcohol or drug abuse.

Family members have identified the deceased man as 27-year-old Devin Bush.
