ORRVILLE, OH (WOIO) - The early morning shooting took place at an intersection in Wayne County. Michael Amstutz, 25, was shot and killed at the intersection of Smucker and Chippewa Road in Green Township.
Present with the victim was a 21-year-old friend of the victim who provided information about the case. The man said he and the victim had been riding in a vehicle with three other people when the driver stopped the vehicle and allowed the victim and suspect to exit.
Shortly after the pair exited the car, gunfire erupted resulting in the victims injuries. It appears that the dispute may have been over a woman that was in the car.
Jessica English, a former girlfriend, said she was set to meet him later this week until she heard the horrible news he had been killed.
"He was really sweet and kind. He was really great with my daughter. He was a really great guy we had a lot of fun. We went out and did stuff and he was
fun to be around. He was outgoing and he loved doing tattoos. He was definitely a tattoo artist. He loved doing tattoos," Jessica English said.
Larry Finn,19, was arrested and he's in custody in the Wayne County Jail. He was arrested at the home of a relative in Barberton. A second man was taken into custody but was released after questioning.
Friends said there was bad blood between Amstutz and Finn but they considered each other as friends.
Michael's friends said he had a tough childhood in foster homes but was embracing life as an adult and was a talented tattoo artist.
"He is too quick to trust. He has been hurt and abandoned too much in his life. He will trust the first person who gives him the opportunity. It's sad
that it led to something like this because he was too good a man," Kelsey Aukerman said.
