OLMSTED FALLS, OH (WOIO) - Carl Monday investigations has learned that Ann Marie Donegan, Mayor of Olmsted Falls, has been charged with 3 misdemeanor counts which include aggravated menacing, menacing and domestic violence.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 2. A family member called 911 after Donegan's 11-year-old son phoned. The family member heard screaming coming from the mayor and the 11-year-old was crying.
The mayor did not know her son called this family member. Police arrived for a welfare check and the mayor stated everyone was fine. Donegan turned herself in to Berea Municipal Court Thursday morning. A hearing was held and she was released on personal bond.
According to a statement released Thursday evening, "My son means the world to me. I categorically deny all charges. I look forward to clearing this up and ask for your compassion, respect and privacy during this difficult time," according to Donegan.
