LYNDHURST, OH (WOIO) - The 18-year-old accused of killing two of his Hawken school classmates in a car accident, changed his plea to no contest Thursday afternoon and the judge found him guilty.
Chapin Berk was driving this past May on County Line Road in Gates Mills when he lost control and slammed into a tree. Alexander Doody, 18, and Joshua Weil, 18, were killed.
Berk was given a $1,000 fine, $1,000 restitution, 5 years probation, and 180 days suspended jail time. Berk must also continue counseling, report college grades and make a speech to Hawken students.
