BEREA, OH (WOIO) - A 2-year-old local business has targeted a customer base who wants to be connected to the Internet, but might be intimidated by the technology. For a monthly subscription, any questions or problems seniors have can be answered with just a click.
At the age of 73, Jane Cibulskas is the owner of NETS Embroidery.
"You bring me your design," Cibulskas said while sitting at her computer in a room filled with embroidery machines. "I send it away to be digitized. When it comes back to me, I load it into my software. Then I'll save it to a floppy drive. We load it into the embroidery machine."
That's a lot of technology with lots of room for problems.
"I got my gray hair doing that," says Cibulskas about dealing with computers.
For both her business and home computers, she hired a Berea company named CallJimbo.
"I always say, in our age group, it's a love-hate relationship. We love our computers, but we hate them when they don't work the way they're supposed to," explained Diana Fretwell, president of CallJimbo.
Whenever Cibulskas has a problem, help is a click away. As long as her computer is connected to the Internet a CallJimbo agent can remotely take control of her computer and fix everything. They also do all her anti-virus web protection and updates.
"Those updates are important and seniors are afraid to click okay because they don't know what they're clicking okay to," said Fretwell.
The service is not just for businesses, Chuck Rocco uses it for his home computers.
"When you're older and you're not familiar with it. My wife now pays bills online now and we never thought about that a few years ago," admitted Rocco.
