LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) -

A man arrested by Lakewood Police in a suspected homicide has been released.

On Sunday around 6:30 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department received a call reporting a female screaming at an apartment in the 11000 block of Edgewater Drive at the Park Shore Apartments.

Upon entering the residence, officers found a female unconscious with shallow breathing on the couch in the living room. She was transported to Lakewood Hospital and then transferred to the Cleveland Clinic. She was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. on Monday.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Kimberly S. Harris.

According to police, a 28-year-old male was inside with the female when officers responded. Police say he was staying in the apartment. He was placed under arrest for felonious assault.

This case is being investigated as a homicide, pending a ruling by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. As of Tuesday, the medical examiner's office has been unable to officially rule on a cause of death. After consulting with the prosecutor's office, the man arrested in connection with Harris' death was released pending further investigation.
