The Cleveland Division of Police First District Detective Bureau is investigating an aggravated robbery/felonious assault shooting that occurred on West 130th Street around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Officers received an assignment to respond to the 13200 block of Astor Avenue for a male shot. Upon arrival, officers and EMS located the 22-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the ankle area. EMS transported the male to Fairview Hospital.
Preliminary investigation reveals the victim was at the Marathon gas station at 4619 W. 130th standing outside his vehicle when he and a friend were approached by several males. The victim told police one of the suspects produced a handgun and robbed him of $50 and his cell phone. The victim told police as he ran away, a suspect began shooting at him and struck him in the ankle.
Officers later spoke with the friend of the victim who said one of the suspects also pointed a gun at him and ordered him to give him what he had. This victim told police he threw his wallet on the ground and drove away from the area. As he was driving away, he claims the suspect fired multiple shots at him, striking the vehicle. He was uninjured.
