The Cudell Rec Center on Cleveland's west side received some new equipment Wednesday, thanks to a donation by the Cleveland Police Foundation.
The gift was an effort to mend fences surrounding the shooting death of Tamir Rice.
"The Cleveland Police Foundation's motto is investing in a safe community, and one of our goals is to improve our relationship with community, so this is one step we use to do that," said Capt. Keith Sulzer, Captain of Community Policing.
A Cleveland officer's family donated weight benches and exercise machines, they said, to help repair a fractured relationship.
