Gladiators take on Philadelphia Soul in AFL Playoffs

The Cleveland Gladiators are in the playoffs for the second straight year. The Gladiators (8-10) will take on the Philadelphia Soul (15-3) in the first round of the 2015 AFL Playoffs on Saturday, August 15.

The Gladiators and Soul battled last weekend in Cleveland, where the Soul won 48-33 in the regular season finale. Quarterback Shane Austin threw three touchdowns passes, giving him 101 touchdown passes in the 2015 season, which is a career high for him and a new Gladiators record.

Wide receiver Collin Taylor finished the season tied for sixth in the AFL in receiving yards in the regular season with 1,597 yards and his 43 touchdowns placed him third. Taylor led the Glads with 144 catches. The last time Taylor played against Philadelphia, he had a pair of touchdowns.

Last season, the Glads knocked the Soul out of the playoffs on a last second field goal, 39-37. The Gladiators went on to advance to the ArenaBowl, where they lost to the Arizona Rattlers 72-32.

Gladiators will battle the Soul Saturday at 5:00 P.M.
