LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - Volunteers from LakewoodAlive, a non-profit community development organization, are spending Saturday making a home fresh-- freshly painted that is.
The group is painting the exterior of a home at 1443 Riverside Drive with the support of its board of directors and staff.
The 20 volunteers will work on the project from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The organization says that the woman who owns the home has been dealing with a significant amount of hardships during the last year.
Prior to the event, LakewoodAlive referred her to Cleveland Housing Network's Weatherization Program for home insulation and to have her furnace replaced at no cost. The Paint Lakewood Program to provided the materials used.
The project is part of LakewoodAlive's efforts through the Community Engagement Program that focuses on providing resources and assistance in the Scenic Park and Birdtown neighborhoods. LakewoodAlive continues to promote healthy and safe living environments while improving the neighborhoods' quality of life.
