Police arrest man accused of domestic violence in a river

Friday night Summit County Sheriff's and the Sheriff's Marine Patrol responded to the North Reservoir behind Portage Lakes Drive in Coventry Township in regards to a domestic incident in progress. When the deputies arrived, the female victim was in the water and the suspect, Brian Snider, had left in his boat. The victim was not hurt.

Snider was eventually located driving his watercraft with no lights. He drove his boat near the dam located near State Mill Road then jumped off and into the water.

After a brief time in the water, Snider was caught. 

The 44-year-old Coventry Township man was arrested and charged with domestic violence, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless operation, and fleeing.

He's being held in the Summit County Jail.
