AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A man is facing charges after a shooting early Sunday morning at an Akron gas station.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard.
The 24-year-old victim reported he was involved in an argument with the suspect in a gas station parking lot. Two clerks from the gas station came outside to break up the fight. One employee had a handgun on his waist and the suspect grabbed it, firing several shots at the victim. The suspect then fled.
The victim was struck in the left forearm and abdomen. He was transported to Akron General Medical Center, where his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Suspect Cordell Rashad Walker Sr., 25, was apprehended in the 1200 block of Nome Avenue. Walker was charged with felonious assault and weapons under disability. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
