The Cleveland Indians have announced that they have activated second baseman Jason Kipnis from the Disabled List. In addition, the Indians have placed infielder Chris Johnson on the 15-day D.L.
Kipnis has been on the 15-day D.L. since August 2nd with right shoulder inflammation. He is currently leading the American League in batting average (.326) and on-base pct. (.401) and for the year is batting .326 (132-405) with 66 runs, 31 doubles, 6 triples, 6 home runs and 39 RBI in 101 games.
Johnson last played on Friday, August 14 in Minnesota. During his 6-game tenure with Cleveland he has batted .429 (9-21) with 3 2B and 3 runs scored.
