Boston, MA - There was a Bauer outage in Boston, alright, but unfortunately for the Tribe, that meant that Trevor Bauer was finished before the end of the second inning, chased after giving up 5 runs in just one-and-two thirds, as the Indians fell to the Red Sox, 9-1.
David Ortiz opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first, but it was the second inning that did Bauer in. Mookie Betts, delivering the big blow, a bases-loaded double off the Green Monster in left that brought three more runs home, and put the Red Sox up 4-0.
Brock Holt followed up Betts' double with an RBI single, bringing Betts home, and Bauer was done for the night.
The Red Sox were not, taking on four more runs to turn it into a rout.
The Tribe's lone run came on a Michael Brantley solo home run to right in the 7th.
