A father who pleaded guilty to murdering his 12-year-old stepdaughter is headed back to prison for long time.
Rufus Gray sentenced to life in prison with no parole possibility for 31 years.
Davia Garth was shot to death in her Clement Avenue home on Oct. 30, 2014, when Gray broke into the home and began shooting. Davia's mother, Sonya, was also shot, but survived. Gray was also convicted of assaulting two other victims who were in the home at the time: a 24-year-old man and a 3-year-old boy.
Sonya Garth had filed for divorce in April 2014 and Gray had just been released on probation on Oct. 25, 2014, after serving time on a domestic violence conviction against her.
