The man shot by Cleveland police on August 11 appeared in court for the first time Friday.
Bond was set at half-million dollars for 28-year-old Justin Damato.
Damato was shot by police after running from a traffic stop on Puritas.
Cleveland Police say Damato had a weapon.
Police say they stopped him on the west side because the SUV he was driving was reported stolen, he was driving erratically and his lights were off.
Damato got out his truck and when told to get back in, he took off running.
According to Chief Williams, Damato pulled out a gun during the pursuit and that's when he was shot in his abdomen and hip. Damato's weapon was recovered at the scene.
No police officers were injured during the incident.
His next court date has not been set.
