CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The city of Cleveland has appointed an interim fire chief.
Angelo Calvillo was sworn-in Friday morning.
Chief Calvillo has been on the force since 1989 and was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2012.
He has served as the Director of Training for the Cleveland Division of Fire Training Academy and he was a member of the Regional Cuyahoga County Type 1 Haz-Mat Team.
Chief Calvillo is also a certified Fire and EMS Instructor.
He replaces former chief Patrick Kelly. Kelly retired in September and is currently serving as the interim fire chief in Olmsted Township.
