CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Just days after a 7-year-old and 12-year-old were busted for playing with real guns on Cleveland's east side, police arrested three more juveniles carrying weapons illegally.
Just before midnight on Thursday, Cleveland Police were sent to the 9100 block of Wade Park Avenue for reports of six males with guns attempting to rob someone. The person who called 911 said the suspects were by the dumpsters. When officers arrived, the males fled but they were able to arrest two of them.
Four loaded guns were found by the dumpsters, including a High Point .380, a Taurus .38 special, and an SKS rifle. The suspects, two 15-year-old males, were processed but the Juvenile Prosecutor neglected to charge them, so they were released to their parents.
Earlier that day, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with shots fired at a house on East 94th Street, near Ansel Road. Police were called to that scene around 5:30 p.m. after reports of a group of teens with guns. While police were looking for the suspects, they spotted the teen suspect who officers said was "displaying characteristics of a person carrying a gun in his waistband." As officers attempted to stop him, he ran, but was arrested a short time later. He was carrying a .32 revolver.
That teen was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and will appear in Juvenile Court.
