Investigation: Suspect wanted after robbing Stow Subway

STOW, OH (WOIO) - Stow Police are looking for the man who robbed a Subway store over the weekend.

Just after 8 p.m. on Saturday, police say a male wearing a "ratty" looking mask entered the back door of the Subway at 3500 Hudson Drive and abruptly went to the front of the store. The male then approached a clerk at the register and while brandishing a black handgun demanded, "Give me the money in the register."

After taking the cash, the male then told the clerk not to look at him and go to the back room. Then he fled the scene, but it is unknown if it was on foot or in a vehicle.

When police arrived, the clerk described the person as a white male, standing approximately 5'8" to 5'10" tall, with a medium build, "dark" eyes, wearing a black mask, blue jeans and a dark blue hoodie. Officers searched the area with help from Cuyahoga Falls Police, but were unable to locate anyone matching the description.

Two other employees were working at the time, but did not see the suspect and were unaware of the robbery until after he had left.

No customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Anyone with more information can call Det. Edie Gaffney at (330) 689-5700.
