Lakewood: 8th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade this weekend

LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - Pet owners rejoice! LakewoodAlive will be holding its annual Spooky Pooch Parade this weekend.

This is the 8th year for the event that has become the most fun Halloween tradition for Northeast Ohio dog lovers and their families.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes dressed in their finest Halloween fashions will strut their stuff in the heart of Lakewood's business district on Detroit Avenue. Judges will award prizes in a number of categories including Best Dog & Child, Best, Dog & Adult, Best Dog & Group, Spookiest Pooch and Best in Show. Best in show will win a year's supply of food compliments of Pet's General Store and also a photo shoot with Portraits by Martha.

We will once again be returning to Kauffman Park, 15450 Detroit Avenue, behind Discount Drug Mart on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 12:30 – 4:00p.m.

Registration/check-in begins at 12:30 p.m. in Kauffman Park. Vendors, rescue groups and other nonprofits with dog-related goods and services will highlight the pre-parade festival. Come and enjoy the new Kauffman park walking path as we fill the park with a "barking" good time.

Parade pre-registration costs $10 per dog and $15 registration the day of the parade. Multiple dog discounts are available with pre-registration only. Humans are free. Proceeds from the parade will benefit LakewoodAlive.
