CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland police said a brother was defending his sister when he was shot Monday night.
The Cleveland Division of Police Fifth District Detective Bureau is investigating the felonious assault shooting that happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 13000 block of Deise Avenue.
Police said when officers responded for a man shot, a woman at the scene told them her brother had been shot by her ex-boyfriend and that he may still be in the house. EMS was called to the scene, as officers searched the house for the suspect, who was not found.
Police said the victim was found in an upstairs hallway with a gunshot wound to his buttocks. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the woman became involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, Terrell Willis, 23, over a comment she had left on Instagram. The suspect pulled a gun from his sweatshirt and fired a shot at her head, but missed. The female's brother then tried to wrestle the suspect, who in turn, pointed the gun at him. As he tried to run, the suspect shot him and fled.
Anyone who has more information on the incident or Willis' whereabouts can call fifth district detectives at (216) 623-5500.
