CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was shot at an apartment in the 11000 block of Continental Avenue on Tuesday around 8:20 p.m.
Police say when officers responded for a male shot, EMS was already tending to the victim, who was shot six times: twice in his left thigh, twice in his right thigh and twice in his genitals.
According to police, preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was in the upper portion of a two-family home on Continental with several others, when an unknown male came into the apartment with a silver and black semi automatic pistol. A struggle ensued among the victim, suspect and another male in the home. The struggle continued into a back hall and resulted in the suspect firing shots, striking the victim multiple times. The suspect then fled.
The victim was taken to MetroHealth Hospital in critical condition.
Police say no signs of forced entry were found. People in the home told police the apartment's back door is often left unlocked.
The victim was unable to give a detailed description of the suspect.
