CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland 19 has confirmed through court records the man who was shot and killed on I-480 Thursday after leading police on a high-speed was Michael J. Brennan, 31, of Lakewood.

Investigators tell us Brennan robbed a Papa John's pizza shop on Pearl Road in Parma Heights for $89 before he sped off in a white pick up.

Police say the six minute chase ended with a crash into the median just past State Road, near the Jennings Freeway entrance ramp.

That's when police say Brennan got out with a gun in his hand and officers started shooting.

Its unclear whether the gun was real or not.

"We don't want to say it's a replica gun at this time it certainly may be. We want to have it tested before we are certain," said  Det. Sgt. Steve Scharschmidt, Parma Heights Police.

Det. Sgt. Scharschmidt says police fired at least six shots. It's unclear how many times the suspect was hit. The Medical Examiner's office will determine that.

Parma Police, Parma Heights Police, Brooklyn Police and Cleveland Police are taking part in the investigation.
