DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Two major road construction projects this weekend will cause roadblocks for drivers.

I-71 Northbound:
I-71 NB will close at the
Metro Curve at 7 p.m. Friday, October 16. Motorists should use I-490 east to I-77 north to reach Downtown and I-90.

One lane of the roadway will open for Sunday's Browns game (from 6 a.m. through 1 p.m.). The road blocks will return through 6 a.m. Monday, October 19. The southbound lanes of I-71 are NOT impacted
by this work. The West 25th Street & Fulton Road on-ramps to I-71 north will be closed
from 7 p.m. Friday though 6 a.m. Monday. Motorists should detour via West 25th Street north to Clark Avenue. Use Clark east to Quigley Road north to West 7th Street for access to I-490 east.

I-77 Northbound and Southbound
I-77 will close both directions from I-480 to SR-21 (just north of I-480) starting Friday, October 16
at 7 p.m. The ramps from I-480 EB and WB will also be closed to I-77 NB during the closure. The Northbound lanes will reopen at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 18. The Southbound lanes will reopen Sunday, October 18 at 4 p.m.

During the closure, all traffic leaving downtown Cleveland via I-77 south will be detoured via I-490 westbound to SR 176 south. Motorists traveling northbound should use SR 176 to I-71 as alternate.

ODOT says, "When the lanes reopen, motorists should be alert for shifted traffic patterns. The ramp from I-480 east to I-77 north (which
has been closed since March) is also expected to reopen."
