Man wanted for snatching purses at area bars

PARMA, OH (WOIO) -

Parma police are on the lookout for the man going around snatching purses from area bars. 

Police say the first incident happened on Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. at the Number One Lounge on Ridge Road. The victim was inside the bar with friends. When she left her purse with a friend to use the restroom, the man grabbed her purse and fled. Witnesses chased after the man and told police that he drove away in a white-colored Monte Carlo.

The second incident occurred on Oct. 10 around 7:40 p.m. at the Tradesman Tavern, located at 5746 State Road. The man grabbed the victim’s purse as she sat at a bar stool and ran out of the front doors. He was seen leaving in a white-colored Monte Carlo.

Video from both businesses was obtained and showed the same man committing the thefts.

Police say after the thefts the man used the both victims’ credit cards to make purchases at several businesses. Video was obtained from those businesses showing the same man at the two bars.

The male was described as a white, in his late 20’s, 6’, 180lbs, short brown hair, wearing a dark-colored hoodie.
