Guilty verdict reached in the murder trial of a man representing himself.

Jeffrey Conrad of Cuyahoga Falls was not in court when the guilty verdict came down. He was convicted of murder, felonious assault, violating a protection order and domestic violence.

Prosecutors say Conrad killed ex-girlfriend Amanda Russell in August of 2014. The 40-year-old mother was found dead in the backyard on Aug. 28, 2014. Police say her daughter made the discovery and called 911. She had been stabbed more than 50 times.

While in jail, the Summit County Sheriff's Office says Conrad made a weapon and stabbed Dennis C. McClelland. He was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault in that case.

Conrad had no defense in the case. He wasn't even in the courtroom for any of the testimony.

A sentencing date has not been determined.

Conrad was recently indicted in Cuyahoga County on a 2006 rape and kidnapping case.
