Officer who used state database to track ex gets 4 years in prison

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - An Akron Police Sergeant who admitted to stalking his ex was sentenced to four years in prison.

In addition to stalking, Eric Paull pled guilty to using a state law enforcement database to dig up personal information on his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

Authorities say Paull used the program Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway to find personal information on his ex, who had a pending case against him for menacing.

Paull could have received up to nine years behind bars.
