HINCKLEY, OH (WOIO) - Robin Doerschuk is a mother to 3-year-old Max and 1-year-old Troy. She's been happily married for five years to her husband Jeff.
Doerschuk is also the Director of Sales for a recruiting firm and has been featured in several magazines.
And if that's not enough on her plate, eight months ago when she was pregnant she decided to add something else to her resume.
"I think every woman has a story that they can share and we can all learn by listening. So that's why I created this," Robin said.
What she created is the Women's Leadership Conference of Northeast Ohio. The mission is to empower, educate, and inspire.
This is the first year for a one-day conference that will feature a dozen leading women in our area, including an Olympic gold medalist, a G.M. from the Ritz-Carlton, the president of a construction company and more.
"There's studies out there that show if you have a woman on your executive team your company will outperform 30 percent of just only men on your executive team," Robin said.
And for this 36-year-old Hinckley mom, this is all a part of a positive movement in northeast Ohio: spotlighting women from all walks of life, networking and challenging each other to continue to achieve.
"I want women in Cleveland to know that there is not a glass ceiling only if you believe that. So it starts by a movement. You start with a small conference, you get everyone taking notice and then that's when the real change comes," Robin said.
The conference will take place Thursday, October 29 at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
