LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -

Family and friends are in a desperate search for a mentally challenged Lorain man. 35-year-old Justin Gillespie has been missing since early Tuesday morning.

Amanda Jones is at her computer looking on Facebook for her missing brother-in-law. Her latest post on his page reads "Please let me or your brothers
know you are ok. God only knows where you are and my heart is heavy with fear and worry."

Amanda and Joe Jones continue to scan social media for any sign of Justin.

"He is bipolar and manic depressive. Schizophrenic. When he gets off his meds he gets delusional," Joe said.

Justin is not considered dangerous. He has the mind of a teenager and may be too trusting of others.

Justin's family has also checked the Daily Mart in Lorain a few blocks away from their home. They say it's one of Justin's favorite spots where he grabs a drink or a pack of cigarettes, but nobody has seen him since he vanished.

We do know that Justin might be on his way to Baltimore, Maryland for a what he thinks is a very special reunion.

"The last time we had an episode like this he was on his way to Baltimore to visit his mom who had already passed away three or four years ago," Joe said.

When it's a 35-year-old man missing who is mentally challenged, volunteers are often slower to respond to a search.

"Lorain Police have been phenomenal, but again there are no Amber Alerts. There has to be a system in place for this," Joe said.

If you see Justin, you're asked to contact the Lorain Police Department.
