CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The excitement was contagious inside Winking Lizard Tavern in downtown Cleveland during the Cavaliers season opener against the Chicago Bulls.

It was one of more than 40 official Cavs watch party locations.

The phrase we kept hearing from fans over and over was "this is the year for a championship."

Fans packed the bar and were more than ready for the Cavs season after last year's heartbreaking loss in the finals.

One fan put it best, saying, "It's a championship or bust."

The Cavs have almost all of their players back and playing, and fans say the pieces should fit together now that everyone is healthy.

Cleveland sports fans are putting all of their energy into the Cavs. They want to see all of the big players out on the finals court this season.

"I think we've been there last year, we know what we're doing, we're calmer than anything. We feel we're going to make it and I think we will," said Zach Arace.

"It was their first year together so it was definitely a learning season. This year they'll start from the beginning and I think they'll really kill it," said Jeffrey Blackschmidt.

The home opener is this Friday against the Miami Heat.
