HURON COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Classes were canceled Wednesday for students who attend South Central Schools in Huron County.

Officials decided to close the schools for the day while authorities investigate a threat posted on Facebook.

Greetings S C Students, Parents and Staff. This is an update from our Superintendent, Martha Hasselbusch. Currently the Huron County Sheriff's Department is investigating a series of Facebook posts that appeared to be a threat. I can assure you that our campuses were evacuated and secured this evening (10-27-15), and that all of our students and staff are safe. Our schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 for all students and staff that attend SC campuses. All students that attend EHOVE or other campuses will be transported as usual. School will resume for all SC students on Thursday, October 29, 2015. A decision as to extra curricular practices for the afternoon of October 28, 2015 will be communicated via one call before noon on October 28th. Thank you and have a good evening.
