NE Ohio feeling the effects of Patricia

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Busy Wednesday morning in the Cleveland 19 Storm Center. The remnants of Hurricane Patricia are being felt here in Cleveland.

High winds and steady rain slowed down traffic, caused crashes and knocked over power lines.

On West 44th in Cleveland near John Court a phone line tumbled over.

Around 6 a.m., an SUV crashed and went over an embankment. The one-car crash happened near West 81st St. No one was transferred to the hospital.

South of Cleveland, two Akron Public Schools didn't open due to losing power. The students at Betty Jane CLC Elementary and Windemere Elementary got a day off.

First Energy had to deal with scattered outages this morning. Check the outage map.

The remnants also disrupted air travel. The weather forced flight delays and cancellations. Check your flight status before leaving for the airport.

It has been and will continue to be a messy day. Keep the rain gear nearby.
