CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt praised Forward Tristan Thompson with how fast he has picked things up, despite missing most of the preseason, due to holding out on contract talks.
"He's going to do the thing he does, regardless of the play call, regardless of what the coaches are doing, he's going to go out there and rebound and be active, touch the ball, run to the rim and finish a play, screen well and move and facilitate for himself or for another player. The big thing for me is to get the rhythm and get the feel for the game, it has come a lot faster honestly than I originally expected," Blatt said following the win.
On Friday night, Thompson scored 13 points and had 9 rebounds in 26 minutes in the Cavs 102-92 win over the Miami Heat.
Thompson and the Cavs will take on the 76ers in Philadelphia on Monday.
The Cavs are now 2-1 on the season, winning their last two.
