CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - You can cross Alex Mack's name off the list of possible trades. The Browns two-time Pro Bowl center told national media on Monday night that he will not waive the no-trade clause in his contract.
Mack said in a statement that the clause "was included for a good reason: I'm not leaving my teammates, coaches and Browns fans while there is work this season to be finished."
The most interesting part of that statement is "this season" because Mack can still opt out of the deal next March. In that case, the Browns would receive nothing in return.
The trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m.
