CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It's official, Johnny is back!
The Cleveland Browns tweeted their decision Wednesday, that Johnny Manziel will start Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"On the short week we realized that Josh just wasn't going to be able to get to the point where he could go," said Browns Head Coach Mike Pettine. "Johnny has worked hard to prepare himself. He is excited about his opportunity and we are all looking forward to the challenge we face in a good Bengals football team on Thursday night."
Many die-hard Browns fans support Manziel and the Browns decision...
But not everyone was happy with the choice....
Josh McCown injured his ribs in the second half of Sunday's loss to Arizona. Pettine would not disclose the results of X-rays taken on McCown, who has taken a pounding in recent weeks. McCown was limited in practice last week with a sore right shoulder and bruised ribs.
Although he was in pain, the 36-year-old continued to play until there was only about two minutes left in the game.
This will be Manziel's second start of the season. He has appeared in three games this season and completed 28-of-50 passes for 393 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
