(WOIO) - Hello, my name is Bill Denihan. I am the chief executive officer of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Board of Cuyahoga County.

We continue to suffer from a heroin epidemic.

Deaths from heroin overdose have continued to increase, claiming the lives of 124 individuals so far this year.

In addition to heroin, we are impacted by the deadly addiction of fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opiate that is 100 times more potent than morphine. We have already lost 59 people to fentanyl overdose this year.

The board funds a 24-hour crisis hotline. We also fund Project Dawn to help individuals from overdoses of heroin and fentanyl.

Please stay away from this drug, it is deadly.
