CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Police are searching for the male suspect who they say stabbed a man in the head after an altercation on Thursday morning.
Officers responded to MetroHealth Medical Center to speak with the victim, who drove himself to the hospital for treatment.
Cleveland Police say the 44-year-old man reported he went to the Marathon gas station at East 117th and St. Clair around 6 a.m. to look for his phone. After he had an altercation with another male, he says it was unclear what happened next.
He told police he remembers that he drove himself home and his friend removed a steak knife from the back of his head, before driving him to Metro.
According to police, the victim had a laceration to his lower lip, along with the back of his head, but was treated and released from the hospital.
The suspect was described as a black male, between 30 to 35 years old, standing 6'2" tall, weighing 200 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.
