WAYNE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Authorities are seeking the cause of death of an 11-year-old girl who passed away during a recital at Sempre Piano School.

Evelyn 'Evie' Gerber had just finished playing the piano when she took a bow, collapsed and died. She was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center.

According to family members Evie was rarely sick and had just recently visited a doctor.

In addition to piano Evie also played the guitar, competed in swim meets, and was involved in the Canton Ballet and 4H.

Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 6 from 4-8 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak St., Orrville. Burial will be in Dalton Cemetery.

Instead of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to her favorite charities: Akron Children's Hospital or Friends of Kenyan Orphans.

The Stark County Coroner's Office is saying her death was natural, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
