SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

An Amber Alert issued for Summit County has been canceled after officials say a 2-year-old boy who went missing from Green earlier Friday has been found safe.

The Summit County Sheriff's Office says the suspect's vehicle was found in an apartment near Buckingham Street and Simmons Court. The boy was found inside the apartment.

Officials say the suspect, who is the child's aunt, was taken into custody. So far, no charges have been filed. According to officials, she never returned with the child.

The alert was issued around 8 p.m. Friday after the boy reportedly was taken from a residence in the 4600 block of Sherylton Hills Drive in Green earlier that day.

An investigation is ongoing.
