ALLIANCE, OH (WOIO) - The search continues for a hit-and-run driver who sent an 11-year-old boy to the hospital.
J.J. Morris has been released from the hospital and is back at home recovering. He suffered several broken bones and serious cuts.
Police say J.J. was hit while riding his bike on East State Street in Alliance on Tuesday evening, and the driver just took off. The vehicle dragged the boy's bike more than 100 feet before fleeing the scene.
"I was riding my bike towards McDonald's, when a car sped up and hit me," recalled J.J.
"I'm glad he's coming home. I'm glad he's here. It could have been a lot worse," Cynthia Morris, mother, said.
Police are looking for a silver vehicle with front-end damage. The driver could face criminal charges.
Anyone with more information on the hit-skip is urged to call the Alliance Police Department at (330) 821-9140.
J.J. is facing even more surgeries on his road to recovery. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cover medical costs.
