MEDINA, OH (WOIO) -

A pre-trial hearing Monday for a Medina father accused of leaving his dead baby daughter in a crib for a month.

35-year-old Eric Warfel is charged with child endangering, abuse of a corpse, possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence.

The body of one-year-old Ember was found in Warfel's East Reagan Parkway apartment on July 29 by a cable repair worker. Her cause of death has not been revealed. Prosecutors say the child had been dead for several weeks and Warfel hid the news from family members.

Ember's 7-year-old sister, who also lived in the same apartment, was placed with her grandparents.

Warfel has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and remains in jail on a $1 million bond.

A trial date of Jan. 19, 2016 was set at Monday's pre-trial hearing.
