ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - The man who told 911 operators he shot his wife appeared in an Elyria courtroom Monday.
Ronald Svec, 74, was arraigned around 9 a.m. He's charged with murder and felonious assault.
Svec is accused of the murder of his wife, Gloria Svec, 69, after a shooting at their home on Jaycox Road Friday evening.
Gloria was found in their kitchen with multiple gunshot wounds.
She died at St. John Westshore Hospital.
Svec did not enter a plea and was given a bond of $750,000 for each count.
During his arrest Friday Nov. 6, he told North Ridgeville Police his wife threatened him with a knife so he shot her.
The couple was raising their young grandson, who lives with them. The child was home during the shooting, and was not injured. He's now staying with other family members.
Svec is being held at the Lorain County Jail.
