A white minivan crashed into Danzey's Discount Store on E. 79th and Woodland early Friday morning.
Thieves got away with the store's ATM and left behind some major damage.
This is, at least, the eighth smash-and-grab in the area in the past three months. The latest happened around 4:45 a.m. Police say the van was left at the scene.
It's unclear how they got away with the ATM.
A group of suspects drove into a Speedway gas station on Broadview Rd. and stole an ATM. Officers say around 3:45 a.m. a light blue pick-up truck backed right into the door, shattering the glass and breaking the frame.
Just before 4 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 4, a truck crashed into a 24-hour 7-Eleven on Cleveland's east side. By the time officers arrived, the suspects, the ATM and vehicle were gone. Employees inside the store told police a dark-colored pickup truck rammed into the glass front of the store and three other individuals jumped out and loaded the store's ATM onto the truck.
A vehicle smashed into The Union Club Tavern on St. Clair Ave. around 4 a.m. Oct. 23. The suspects smashed their white van into the bar and stole the ATM. The white van used to crash into the building was still there, parked and running, when police arrived.
Lakewood Police were called to Lakewood One Stop Gas Station on Madison Ave. around 4:30 a.m. Oct. 14. for a smash and grab. Police say a minivan smashed through the front door of the store then people jumped out and grabbed the ATM that was inside the store. The suspects were able to get away and are still on the run.
And a few hours later crooks at gas station at W. 140th and Lorain in Cleveland tried to steal an ATM stolen but they were unsuccessful. Police said the UniMart's plate-glass proved to be too tough for the robbers after a vehicle tried to crash through it. That was the second attempted ATM smash and grab that day.
Police are investigating in Oakwood Village after suspects crashed into a gas station and dragged out an ATM with their vehicle. It happened at the Marathon gas station located on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Pettibone Road.
Beachwood Police need your help tracking down suspects after a destructive smash-and-grab at Beachwood Place Mall in September. Just after 5 a.m., police say a stolen Jeep Cherokee crashed through the glass entrance of the Saks Fifth Avenue store. Suspects ran in and stole an undetermined amount of merchandise.
