CHARDON, OH (WOIO) - Fundraising to help build the Chardon Living Memorial Park is moving full speed ahead.
The Chardon Rotary held their "Call to the Heart" event earlier this month and decided to donate all monies raised to the memorial.
Thanks to businesses and residents, $30,000 came in.
Memorial organizers say so far, through donations, pledges and grants, they have have raised $200,000 of the $300,000 needed to start the project.

It's been more than three years since the deadly shooting at Chardon High School.
TJ Lane was convicted in the February 27, 2012 shooting that killed 17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin in the school's cafeteria.
Lane was sentenced to serve three life prison sentences.
Memorial organizers hope to have the park built by June 2016.
