CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - A Cleveland Heights man has been sentenced to life without possibility of parole for sexually abusing two children.
26-year-old Travis Sylvester was convicted on one count of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of kidnapping.
Sylvester sexually abused two girls, ages 9 and 7, over a period of several months in 2014.
"This defendant is getting exactly the punishment he deserves for destroying the childhood of two innocent young girls," said Assistant County Prosecutor John Colan, who represented the State of Ohio along with Assistant County Prosecutor Carl Mazzone. "We are very happy with the decision of the jury and the sentence of the judge."
The life sentence is mandatory for a sexually violent predator who attacks a child under the age of 10.
