Actor Charlie Sheen told NBC's Matt Lauer that he is HIV positive Tuesday morning during an exclusive interview.
Sheen says he was diagnosed four years ago.
He said heavy sweats and migraine headaches is what led him to go to the hospital to be checked out.
The former 'Two and a Half Men' star decided to make the announcement to get rid of those 'unsavory' people who were extorting him.
"I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage, of attacks, of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about threatening the health of so many others, which couldn't be farther from the truth," Sheen said.
He said he's paid as much as $10 million to keep people from revealing his diagnosis.
