Man shot pumping gas, car stolen on west side

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Detectives on Cleveland's west side are investigating an early-morning Tuesday robbery and shooting at Q's Gas Station.

Police were called to Clark Avenue around 1:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper back. 

The 24-year-old told police he was at the gas station talking with a friend when a green Toyota pulled up with several men inside. One of the men jumped out of the vehicle, got into his and drove off. 

The victim says as he ran after his car, someone began firing shots and he was hit in the back. Both vehicles took off eastbound on Clark Avenue. 

Police say a handgun was found nearby, at the Million Dollar Club. 

The victim’s vehicle is a grey Nissan Altima, no license plate was given.   

The 24-year-old was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center by EMS. His condition is not known.
